Walter Dewayne Sanford v. State of Mississippi – Lindsey brief – On November 30, 2014, Sanford was driving on I-59 in Pearl River County when he made a u-turn in the median and began driving erratically in the northbound lane and rear ended another car. The passenger in Sanford’s car, Teresa Speirs, died shortly thereafter from her injuries. Sanford’s bac was .23. He was convicted of aggravated DUI causing death. On appeal, the Office of Indigent Appeals filed a Lindsey brief attesting that it could find no appealable issues.
