Former MDOC head Christopher Epps pleads guilty – updated

Jackson Jambalaya and the Clarion Ledger are reporting that Christopher Epps pleaded guilty to two counts of the 40 count federal indictment alleging bribery, fraud and tax evasion this morning (Wed. Feb. 25, 2015). McCrory pleaded guilty this afternoon.  Sentencing for Epps is set for June 9, 2015 and for Cecil McCrory, June 10, 2015.

Jackson Jambalaya is reporting that Harrison County Supervisor William Martin was scheduled to be arraigned  in federal court on charges arising from the Epps investigation.  The arraignment was set for  11:00 on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015.  When Martin didn’t show, he was found dead in his home.
